About

I'm just a video post production major currently in college who likes to dabble in all things tech.

There are very few photo editors designed for blogs out there, and even fewer that are actually half-way decent. Through my searching for a decent editor I cam across Picturesque ($34.95). It is sort of a blend between iPhoto and something else.

Picturesque means to be visually attractive, especially in a quaint or pretty style, and this application lives up to that. In the web 2.0 era things like shadows, nicely formed curves, reflections and the like are all but expected in any form on the web, and in some cases, video development. Picturesque makes all of this very easy to do.

Instead of using multiple layers to accomplish a reflection, you can simply turn it on and see a reflection be presented in realtime. Or if you’d like to add a nice stroke, you don’t have to repeatedly apply, remove and re-apply various strokes to get just the right size. Just move a slider or two to adjust the settings and vuala, you’ve got a perfect stroke done in seconds.

Some people maybe cannot justify the hefty price tag, but if it’s saving me a lot of time that I could otherwise use more wisely, then I think it’s worth it.
