The general consensus is that Apple overprices their laptops. Why? Because you can find a PC laptop with a better GPU, CPU, more HD space and a larger display. Of course most of these can be debunked easily, but what about the display. Is larger better? What about the quality? Those are what I plan to touch upon in this article.
First let’s talk about screen size. The biggest argument is that “I can find a laptop with a larger screen for the same price or less.” Right, if you look at the specifications, most laptop’s with larger screens than comparative Macbook’s or Macbook Pro’s actually have the same resolution. Take a look at this helpful chart:

Just because the screen is larger doesn’t mean you’re seeing more on the screen at once. You’re just seeing everything larger. Hardly an improvement.
Now let’s talk about the screen quality. What are you getting with a Macbook or Macbook Pro in terms of screen quality? Well, probably the best laptop screen around. I look at other laptop’s and just notice flaws after flaws. Either the color is God-awfully horrible, or the brightness is virtually non-existent, or they’re too hard to read outside, etc. I have yet to see a laptop from Dell, HP and the like with a decent screen.
Now what about Macbook’s and macbook Pro’s? In short: Music to your eyes. The screen has a large range of gray’s, excellent color, is extremely bright and is very visible outside. The screen’s Apple makes are just perfect; top-notch quality you don’t find from any other OEM when it comes to laptop’s.
Obviously if you’re just doing word processing a PC laptop is fine, but if you’re looking for a desktop replacement, or want to do anything visual with your laptop, you’ll want to go with a Mac.
